Inspiring Christmas - Light Up The Tree

After the tree was brought home, set up and left to thaw for a while it was time to sort out the strings of Christmas lights.

Straighten Out The Lights!

Has anyone ever wondered why lights that were rolled and put away so carefully the year before were a tangled mess when they came back out of the box?

The lights had to be so carefully unraveled and checked.

And somehow there were always other items in the box other than the strings of lights.

But in the end it always came out right. Perfect strings of dazzling Christmas lights.

All Things Paper and Ink

Kelly, at ink whimsy, (don't you just love the name of her shop) is today's feature. To use her own words, she has "a shop for all things paper and ink." Visit ink whimsy to see the following items and many more.

My son, who's two, kept pointing and exclaiming over these cute Bulldog Cards, which come in a set of 5.

I think these Citrus Mini Cards (a set of 6) have a very refreshing look to them.

This Yellow and Kraft Hearts Paper Garland is also really cute. Don't you think?

1. Tell me a bit about yourself (name, location, affiliations, personal stuff).

My name is Milly and I live in Manhattan with my sweet beagle, Hunter. My Etsy shop features screenprinted paper goods, and will soon also feature my photo prints and prints of my collages. I have been doing mixed media and photography for a long time, and am really excited to be able to offer it on Etsy in the near future! My boyfriend also has an Etsy shop, Corporan Glass.

2. What is the first thing you can remember making by hand? How and why did you make it?

I'm not sure I can remember the first thing I made by hand, because I was probably too young to remember! I know that I have been drawing and painting and scribbling since I could hold a crayon. The first thing I remember making that I absolutely loved was in school. It was a construction paper collage of a bird and nest. I have a vague mental image of it that has always stayed with me for some reason. I simply adored it.

3. What is your favourite thing in your shop and why?

My favorite thing in my shop right now is the Walking the Dog gocco print. The drawing of the little girl is based on myself as a young girl. And the beagle pictured is based on my beloved beagle. Call me nostalgic...

4. Who is your dream buyer? Brad Pitt, Queen Elizabeth.

That is an interesting question! I have been thinking about this one for a few days. I'm not sure, to be honest. Maybe Holly Becker of Decor8 blog? She's not really that famous, but I totally admire her and I love her blog!

5. What is the best homemade item you have ever bought?

I bought an awesome jellyfish screenprinted t-shirt in Brooklyn recently (at Artists and Fleas) from a sweet and very talented woman, whose website is Heartisans.com.

1. Tell me a bit about yourself (name, location, affiliations, personal stuff).

Vanessa Kimball, from Minnesota. I am a graphic designer working in St. Paul.

2. What inspires you? Where do your ideas come from?

I'm inspired by fellow designers and magazines. I love graphic design books for inspiration and ideas.

3. What is the best thing about your products?

The best thing about my products is that it is an actual tangible object, that is in my head. I love it when my creations come alive. I also love paper a lot.

4. Why should people buy your product?

They should buy it if it's their taste and style and if they appreciate paper goods.

5. What is the best homemade item you have ever bought?

A purse. I wish I could sew.

Featured Artist: Eva Felicity Designs

Hello there, My name is Eva and I am so very happy to be here on Etsy showcasing all of my happy little creations. I make them all in the cute little studio that my amazing boyfriend built for me, so I must give him some credit here. I am quite new to Etsy but know that I will take any order as top priority. All items are Handcrafted by Myself.

MATERIALS USED
Jewelry
All items are glass, stone, crystal, pearl or metal beads unless otherwise stated. The metals I use are: .925 Sterling Silver, Silver plated, silver-tone basemetal, gold-toned basemetal and surgical steel.

Sewn Crafts
All items are hand/machine sewn using quality fabrics and materials.

Bath Products
All products are made by hand in small batches. Only the finest natural ingredients and essential oils are used. Flavored items such as lipbalms will occasionally contain popular scents and flavors not achievable by all-natural methods, and so I will use natural-derived, food grade, man-made ingredients. I will ALWAYS state in an items description whether these are used.

Photography and Art
All photography is taken with either my wonderful digital or SLR camera in and around my hometown of Hanson, surrounding cities of south shore Massachusetts and while vacationing. Special shipping for photographs! Due to the lengthy process of printing high quality Glossy photos, at this time it may take me up to 1 week to ship a photo or poster.
