Inspiring Christmas - Simply Elegant

I love dresses although I rarely wear them. I'm more of a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl but on those special occasions it's luxurious to slip into a dress and just know I look damn good!

Beautify Yourself!

Love, Death and The Flintstones

I had the hardest time choosing only three items from today's featured artisan to post here. Kim at My World's A Stage has the coolest embroidered items in her Etsy shop. Apart from the three items here she has aprons, neckties, magnets, machine embroidery and pillows.

I love the look of this first shirt. I am a real fan of white, button down shirts but the embroidered roses here add a real touch of the unique to this shirt.

Then going from lightness and love to darkness and daring, you have this skulls and roses embroidered, black button down shirt.

And to add a touch of whimsy, she has this really cool Flintstones purse made from a silk necktie. Ahhhh... Fred screaming for Wilma... Happy sounds of my childhood!

Can We All Say, Awwwww

How adorable are these handmade clothes from Etsy seller Mimi's Dress Shop?

I admit, ever since my son was born I've made myself stop lusting after all the sweet little dresses and bits of pink lace and frills. Instead, I've focused on finding cute little boy clothes and this outfit in Mimi's Dress Shop is just about one of the cutest things I've ever seen!

Not to neglect all the little girls out there, wouldn't this birthday shirt and skirt just look darling on your little one?

And, who can resist big polka dots? I really think it's time for another child... hopefully a girl this time.

A Man of Many Talents

Keith Krueger, a single father, a shop owner, a self-proclaimed craft and art addict. An all around talented man.

In his Butterfly Bay Design shop on Etsy, Keith offers handmade apparel, home decor and graphic design.

Take a look at this gorgeous silkscreened shirt. I'd buy it in an instant if it weren't so hot here in Belize.

For all you art lovers out there, Keith offers this original oil painting on canvas entitled "Glorious Minnesota".

And a relatively new endeavor for Keith is his hand painted yarns.

For more of Keith's work please check out his other Etsy shop, Mindless Pursuits. He currently has handmade t-shirts listed that have the cutest sayings like "Coffee Zombie" and "I Am Awesome - Deal With It".

Maisy Brown - A Study In Gorgeous!

I absolutely love this dress! And who can blame me? I mean really, who wouldn't love to wear a dress made of gold?

The skirt fabric is 85% metal yarn and 15% silk. Combine this with the electric blue metallic sheen organza self-lined bodice and anyone would feel luxurious wearing it. Hurry and grab this dress because there is only one like it!

Another gorgeous creation from Maisy Brown is this beautiful yet simple Natural Linen Tunic Tent Dress. It features 1960s doilies for pockets and a very old hand-crochet doily bib-ruffle at the neckline. Simply sweet!

And no feature on Maisy Brown would be complete without her fabulous Burlesque Hobble Skirt with Fishtail. This skirt is custom made and the best part is that plus sizes are welcome.

To see these three stunning creations from Maisy Brown and many more please visit her Etsy shop at MaisyBrownReproRetro today!

One-of-a-kind tops, totes & things

1. Tell me a bit about yourself (name, location, affiliations, personal stuff).

Hi! I’m Erica Leigh. I just turned 20 and I live in the Los Angeles suburbs. When I’m not making things, I’m a full-time college student at Woodbury University where I’m majoring in fashion marketing. I love fashion, art, shopping, baking cupcakes, and watching way too much television. Oh, and I also created EtsyU: The Street Team for College Students on Etsy!

2. What inspires you? Where do your ideas come from?

My ideas come from everywhere! They’re really all over the place; history, current trends, indie fashion… a little bit of everything, I think. I’m especially fascinated by the Victorian era, as well as 1960’s mod styles.

3. Creatively where do you think you'll be in five years?

I hope that I’ll have learned a lot in five years. I’m self-taught, so I’m constantly trying to figure out new sewing techniques by reading sewing books and doing research. I also hope that I’ll have been able to pursue other crafts and possibly a new Etsy shop. I get bored easily, which is why I also enjoy doing a variety of arts & crafts. I eventually want to silkscreen, draw, paint, and even do some photography. I’m currently working on some jewelry designs too. It may seem excessive, but I just have too many interests and creative energy, I guess.

4. If you had a client who had unlimited money, what would you create for him and why?

Whoa, I really don’t know. Maybe I’d design them a whole new wardrobe, complete with accessories (bags, scarves, jewelry). It’d have to be a girl though, because I don’t know how to make boy clothes yet.

5. What is the best thing about your products?

I make my own patterns and design everything from scratch. All of the items in my shop are handmade and one-of-a-kind, so every customer is guaranteed an exclusive piece that I’ve put a lot of work into.

Hi there, I'm Katie, thanks for stopping by.

I'm a smalltime, jewelry, clothing and purse maker who wants to share her style with the world!

I'm from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and every year I try to make it out to the surrounding Folk Festivals to sell my product. I've gone the last two years and really hope to make it out again in 2008!

I try to make my clothing and purses out of recycled materials. Anything from tablecloths, to pillowcases, to reused LP record covers. This not only gives my items a vintage feel, but it helps the environment, and what more do you need?

If you see anything you like, don't hesitate to contact me and ask me any questions you like about it. If you're in the area, I may be able to cut down on your shipping, so let me know!
