Inspiring Christmas - Let It Snow!

I love Christmas. I love the sights, the scents and the smells. However, living in a tropical country it just never feels like Christmas to me and I have the hardest time getting in the Spirit. So, to that end I will spend the time from now until that magic day featuring all sorts of lovely items that invoke the feelings of Christmas for me.

Snow was always the first indication to me that we were getting close to Christmas. So...

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Let It Snow Pendant with Snowflake Charm

Thank you to The Vintage Chain, eljah B and Jesse Janes for allowing me to feature their items. Please check out these and all their other fabulous items in their Etsy shops.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Seek Out The Sun, The Moon And The Stars

Tangentine, on Etsy, makes beautiful copper and bronze jewelry. She has so many wonderful items but I really love these three celestial pieces.

The Sun and Sky Necklace, which can also be worn as a chunky bracelet, is too cool!

Crescent Moon Brass Earrings will lend a hippy chic look to any outfit.

And my favorite piece, this Star Finder Copper Cuff, is simply stunning!

Stunning! Gorgeous! Cool!

I don't think I've ever had quite this hard a time choosing just three things from someone's shop to feature. I literally opened twelve new tabs while going through Peacock Jewellery's Etsy shop and then had to slowly narrow my choices down to these three.

Beyond just creating gorgeous jewellery, Cindy is an all around super helpful Etsian. I see her often in the forums where she's usually helping someone out and she's part of the Sellers Helping Sellers Team. And, for me, the icing on the cake is she's from my hometown, Calgary.

I have a real thing for anything blue so this stunning Striped Blue Agate Slice Necklace was the ONLY easy choice.

I love the shimmery look of these gorgeous Opalescent Dreams Earrings.

And how great is it to create this cool Lava Cube Zipper Pull from a chunk of lava?

Elegant Sophistication

Savvy Silver's Etsy shop is full of wonderfully expressive, unique, delightfully charming jewelry! She features one of a kind pieces that are "chic, sophisticated and contemporary" to borrow a few of her own words.

The first thing that caught my eye were these Infinity Hoop Earrings.

As some of my followers will already know, I love daisies so this Silver Daisy Pendant Necklace is totally my style!

And couldn't you just get lost staring into the depths of the glass beads on this Bold, Chunky, MultiStrand Glass Bead Necklace and Earrings set?

A World In A Bottle

These mini bottle pendants from Dryw on Etsy have really captured my interest. Just looking at them makes me feel summery, wishful and mysterious.

I love the color of A Drop Of Ocean - Mini Bottle Pendant

The lightness of Make A Wish - Mini Bottle Pendant is intriguing

I love that the poppy stamens in this A Path Through Remembrance - Mini Bottle Pendant have released the purple haze into the liquid

Etsy's The Niki Project has a store filled with vintage inspired jewelry that really speaks to me. I think some of her pieces are beckoning to my longing for adventure.

Sail away with this Sailboat Necklace.

Soar the open skies with a Circle of Swallows Ribbon Necklace.

Or fly with this Scarab Necklace.

I am totally in love with this OOAK Necklace of Handmade Lampwork Discs. It's very elegant.

This Vintage Style Multicolor Lampwork Bead Ring is really eye catching and I am sure you'd get a tonne of compliments when wearing it.

Let The Sun Shine Through

I have always been fascinated with stained glass. I took a weekend class once and made a pretty cute suncatcher but it wasn't nearly as cool as the items in Go To Great Panes' Etsy shop.

I am a died hard X-Files fan so this Roswell Alien Head Suncatcher is right up my alley!

Wouldn't this Fairy Pendant Necklace look fabulous hanging around your neck?

I love the intricacies of Celtic symbols. I cold stare at this Four Loop Celtic Knot for hours!

Locket Love From Down Under

** Paper and Ribbons is offering all readers of CoconutPalmDesigns FREE worldwide shipping on any purchase over $20 for one week from today's post. Please leave "CoconutPalmDesigns" in the note to seller at checkout to receive your shipping refund. **

Today's featured artisan, Paper and Ribbons, has a beautiful selection of vintage style jewelry in her shop but I am going to focus on only one aspect. I've always found lockets to be intriguing and these sure don't disappoint.

This heart shaped locket comes complete with a tiny brass key and an ivory glass pearl. Stars and hearts and it opens! Can it get any better than that?

I know it's a flower but I think it looks like a little angel floating along beside this antiqued gold locket.

And for the bride in your life, there is this gorgeous oval locket which is embedded with a white dahlia cabochon.

A Crafty Family

The Rustic Home offers items inspired by nature and the elements. This Etsy store is owned and run by a family. They favor trees, owls, dragonflies and the elements but love custom orders.

I just love, love, love, this Kitty Cat Sunglasses Case.

I've always loved painted glass and this Bunny Hill Glass Pitcher is no exception. The Rustic Home has a lot of other painted glass that you should check out.

Isn't this Sunflower Necklace beautiful? It is hand sculpted and hand carved using earth clay and features a spiral sunflower.

Iridescent Beauty from AW Designs UK

Angela, of AW Designs UK, is the creator of these fabulous fused dichroic glass jewelry pieces. Her jewelry shimmers and shines and will look splendid on anyone.

Just take a look at this gorgeous dichroic glass and sterling silver wire pendant and tell me you don't want it!

Or if jewelry isn't your thing but you are in love with the look of Angela's work take a look at this set of glass buttons. Can't you just imagine them on your next sewing creation? Or simply to dress up that boring button down shirt.

This pendant is more simple than many of AW Designs UK's other pieces and yet it is still stunning. And it can also be worn as a brooch!

AW Designs UK
also offers gift certificates in various denominations!

I really love this Caterpillar silver and pearl pendant. What makes it so unique is that it's meant to move as you wear it.

Featured Artist: On A Thousand Hills

1. Tell me a bit about yourself (name, location, affiliations, personal stuff).

My name is Cheryl, and I live in western Massachusetts. I have been involved in crafts and sewing in particular, since I was in grade school. I took 4 years of a clothing shop in our local vocational high school. I try to integrate my love of nature with my love of craft.

2. What is the first thing you can remember making by hand? How and why did you make it?

I remember my aunt getting out boxes of supplies when we'd visit. We'd sit for hours and make all sorts of things. I most remember the snow globes we'd make out of baby food jars.

3. Creatively where do you think you'll be in five years?

I am just beyond the beginning stages of beading, so I will certainly become more creative in 5 years. I have a lot to learn. I also get ideas for other craft and art ideas, and am hoping to branch out into some of those soon.

4. Why should people buy handmade?

It keeps our dollar in our own, American economy. When you buy handmade, you know it is not being made using slave-labor. It is usually something unique, not one of a zillion that were made by machine somewhere.

5. What is the best homemade item you have ever bought?

I would have to say that the beautiful butterfly bowl, made by Judy B Freeman (JudyBFreeman.etsy.com) was my best homemade purchase so far. It was hard to give it up as a gift to my Mom this Christmas.
